We need your garden!

We still need a few more gardens for Open Gardens, Sunday 14th June 2026. If you think you might be interested, we’re very happy to chat (with no obligation!). Contact us at info@opengardens.org.

Visitors love to see gardens of all shapes and sizes, even the tiniest. Many of us love to get ideas for our own patch; which plants cope well with our climate, how to attract more wildlife, which veggies to grow, or even how to camouflage the play equipment or the compost heap! But many come for the live music, the delicious teas, or just a pleasant stroll with a friend. So your garden absolutely does not need to be a show garden, or to be “finished”, or immaculate! Visitors love to see a project, and to come back next time you open (yes, you probably will want to do it again!), and see what’s new.

Opening your garden is huge fun. It’s really lovely to welcome your community into your garden, and see it filled with visitors of all ages, meeting neighbours, chatting with friends, or exchanging gardening tips with complete strangers. Plus, visitors say the loveliest things about your garden, helping you to notice the beauty instead of the list of jobs to do!

You will be well-supported by our team. We will visit beforehand and give advice on any safety considerations, as well providing liability insurance. We will also have two get-togethers for garden owners before the event, to make sure that you have all the information you need, and to give you the opportunity to meet the other owners and hear from those who have opened before. We will also choose the charities that we will support from your nominations, so this is a great opportunity to suggest a charity close to your heart.
